- Kamran Azim, Chief Executive Officer, Taleem Finance Company Ltd

Kamran Azim is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) with almost 30 years of diversified and multi-sectoral experience, ranging from 10 years of advisory & assurance work in KPMG Pakistan to being the Financial Controller of a multinational oil marketing company, Total Parco Pakistan, for 5 years. He then switched to the development sector and, after heading the business of a leading Microfinance Institution, Kashf Foundation for almost 15 years, he started the first dedicated Education Finance NBFC in Pakistan, Taleem Finance Company Ltd (Funded by International Impact Funds) as its Pioneer CEO in August 2019.
He is well regarded for his contributions in various sectoral dialogues of senior executives and practitioners on best corporate governance practices, effective internal controls, as well as strategic changes, especially for the Micro and SME sectors in Pakistan. He has also been a keynote speaker at major national and international events in the development sector.
Mr. Azim has attended advanced leadership training at the Harvard Business School, Wharton University and Oxford University. In addition to being a visiting faculty for Strategic Business Management at leading Institutes for over 25 years, he has also been a regular trainer in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP), Directors' training programs. As a former member of the Civil Society Organizations group of the World Bank/IMF, he represented the Pakistani civil society in the Partnership for Change initiative in Oslo, Norway.
He has a strong passion for the development sector and has dedicated the last two decades in working with marginalized communities, including the affordable education ecosystem, to provide them access to impactful financial and non-financial services.
Mr. Azim was awarded the first-ever Professional Excellence Award for the Best Business Leader category by ICAP’s Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB) Committee in 2023 for his contributions in the fields of finance and social development.
- Ernest Yerekuu, Chief Executive Officer, Opportunity International
Savings & Loans Ltd (Ghana)

Ernest Yerekuu is the Chief Executive Officer of Opportunity International Savings and Loans Ltd. (OISL) in Ghana, a leading inclusive finance institution serving low-income individuals, microenterprises, and underserved communities.
With a strong track record in advancing financial inclusion, Ernest has led transformative initiatives that expand access to education finance, women-focused lending, youth empowerment, and disability-responsive financial services in Ghana.
Under his leadership, OISL continues to drive socially responsible, technology-enabled financial services that strengthen resilience, promote dignity, and unlock opportunities for all.
Mr. Yerekuu holds a Master of Science degree in Development Finance, and Climate Change and Sustainable Development, respectively.
- Shafi Nambobi, Chief Executive Officer, UGAFODE Microfinance Ltd
(MDI), Uganda

Shafi Nambobi is a seasoned microfinance expert with over 25 years of experience, specializing in institutional development and staff capacity building. He began his career as a Credit Officer at FINCA Uganda in 1997, later advancing to Credit Supervisor, Acting Branch Manager, and in 2001, Regional Manager.
From 2002 to 2006, Mr. Nambobi served as Deputy Operations Manager, overseeing village banking, supervision, and policy compliance. In April 2006, he joined Uganda Finance Trust as Chief Manager of Operations, a role he held until 2009 before becoming Chief Operating Officer at FINCA Malawi. He later moved to Tanzania, where he served as Managing Director of Tujijenge Tanzania from 2011 to 2015.
Mr. Nambobi is currently the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of UGAFODE Microfinance Ltd (MD), where he continues to play a pivotal role in institutional strengthening and capacity development.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, a Master’s degree in Microfinance, a Diploma in Banking Management, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management. He has also attended numerous professional courses and international conferences, including the Financial Inclusion Program at Harvard Business School.
