Theresa Mubanga is an Education Specialist for the EduQuality program in Zambia, supporting schools and cluster leaders through the EduQuality (P2E) framework, facilitating Teacher Mentor and Professional Development (TMPD), Cluster Leaders Management (CLM), and School Leaders Professional Development (SLPD) trainings to strengthen instructional practices, and promoting effective school leadership for sustainable improvement in teaching and learning and management of the affordable private schools sector.
Prior to joining the Opportunity Eduquality team, Theresa Mubanga was a senior lecturer at Kitwe College of Education. She taught and coordinated Early Childhood Education and primary school education, offering Language & Literacy Education courses. Additionally, she designed and delivered teacher-training programs and supervised teaching practice, guiding student teachers in effective classroom strategies. Theresa also contributed to national curriculum development and assessment design. Furthermore, she taught English Language to secondary school students at the same college.
She is an experienced Education Specialist with a robust background in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, and Secondary Education. Her expertise lies in language and literacy education, as well as teacher professional development. She possesses extensive experience in teacher training, curriculum design, instructional coaching, mentorship, and school leadership support. Her particular focus is on enhancing learning outcomes through Learner-Centered and Competency-Based Approaches.
Theresa Mubanga earned a Diploma in Secondary School Teaching from Kwame Nkrumah College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Teacher Education. Currently, I am pursuing a Master’s degree in Literacy and Applied Linguistics. I have specialized training in Language and Literacy Development through the USAID (School to School) non-governmental organization. Additionally, I am engaged in ongoing professional development in Early Childhood Education and teacher coaching and mentoring.
