 Prachi Kumar is a School Finance Access Lead at Opportunity International Edufinance, based in India.

Prachi Kumar leads EduFinance’s School Finance Access work in India, helping affordable private schools access financial solutions that strengthen infrastructure, improve learning conditions, and enable long-term sustainability

Prachi is a senior consultant in the education and social impact sector with over a decade of experience in India and global contexts. Prior to joining Opportunity International EduFinance, she was Program Manager at Peepul, where she worked closely with the Government of India to implement the PM SHRI scheme across 500+ schools in Madhya Pradesh, alongside Government-led teacher professional development and digital literacy programs. Earlier, she served as Schools Director at New Globe, leading public education system reform across Africa and Asia through large-scale program launches and team building. She also held leadership roles at Varthana, where she combined school finance with transformation programs to expand access to quality education in low-income communities.

Her experience also includes the Teach For India Fellowship in Pune, where she taught in underserved schools, and the British Council’s International Climate Champion Fellowship, through which she led an education-focused sustainability project selected via a global competitive process.

Prachi holds an M.Sc. in Environmental Studies from TERI University, New Delhi, and a B.Sc. in Environmental Science from Fergusson College, University of Pune. She completed the Executive Program in Banking and Finance Sector (EPBFS) at IIM Calcutta, and the India Leaders for Social Sector (ILSS) Fundraising Program.
