Ommara Raza AliSenior Technical Assistance Advisor for Asia (Pakistan)

Ommara Raza Ali is a Senior Advisor for the Opportunity International EduFinance Technical Assistance team, working with our financial parters across Asia. She is a development economist who studied at Harvard Business School with over eighteen years of diversified experience in Microfinance, SME and Commercial Banking, Strategy and Operations.

She has demonstrated success in the areas of product development, market research, organizational restructuring, digital finance, FinTech partnerships, and business growth. She has a proven track record in consistently turning around organizations and delivering exceptional results by developing high-performance teams, focusing on value drivers, and executing strategies.

Ommara also has a vast research experience in which she has led more than 67 diversified research projects which include research projects into savings products and services for microfinance clients, MSME lending products including a study with USAID on market assessment of SME sector in Pakistan, EduFinance Products, Digital Financial Solutions, Rural microfinance, and credit scoring model development and analysis.

She brings together vast international exposure and experience as she has worked with various international organizations including: FINCA International (which is present across 5 continents including Europe), Microfinance Association United Kingdom as Academic Advisory Board Member, Opportunity International, Habitat for Humanity International USA, World Bank, USAID, ABN Amro Bank (Dutch Bank), Womens World Banking USA, Komida Indonesia, and ACCA.  She is also on the Academic Advisory Board of Microfinance Association UK and is a Board Member of the LSE (London School of Economics) Microfinance.
