Julius Emmanuel OmodingSenior Technical Assistance Advisor for Africa (Uganda)

Julius Emmanuel Omoding is a Senior Technical Assistance Advisor on the Opportunity International EduFinance Education Financial Products (EFP) team based in Uganda. He works closely with financial institution partners across Africa to help them scale lending to the low-cost education sector. 

Julius is a Finance and banking professional with more than 15 years of experience in the Ugandan banking sector. He has previously served as Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer for FINCA Uganda, Executive Director and Head of Business Banking for FINA Bank, now Guarantee Trust Bank, Head of Sales at Barclays Bank (now ABSA), where he held other roles and responsibilities in the corporate and retail banking divisions during his 8 years at the Bank.

At Opportunity International, Julius is instrumental in establishing operations in multiple African countries, developing innovative education finance products, and delivering training programs for partner financial institutions across the region, with a particular focus on East Africa.

Julius holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Makerere University and has completed executive leadership programs at Strathmore Business School and Harvard Business School.
