Jerry John Rawlings OheneSchool Finance Access Lead (Ghana)

Jerry Ohene is a School Finance Access Lead at Opportunity International Edufinance, based in Ghana. He works closely with schools and partner Financial Institutions to ensure the design and effective implementation of Education Finance Products.

Before joining the Education Finance team, Jerry worked as a project officer for Winrock International, overseeing the MATE MASIE (Child Labour) project between the Cocoa Cooperatives and the District and Community Child Protection Committee. He was responsible for training and establishing Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLA) in the project communities, empowering women economically, and taking on leadership roles. Jerry also served as Sustainability Manager at Ecom-Ghana at the district level, managing the cocoa supply chain, delivering training on Child Labour and Forced Labour, and setting up VSLA to support women's economic empowerment and leadership. Additionally, he held a position as Assistant Lecturer at the Medicare College of Applied Sciences, where he taught Information Communication Technology (ICT), Research Methods, and supervised student projects.

Jerry received his MSc from the University of Development Studies in Development Management and BA from the University of Development Studies in Community Development
