George OkwirMonitoring and Evaluation Associate (Uganda)
George Okwir is a Monitoring and Evaluation Associate at Opportunity International EduFinance.
George has more than 15 years of experience in programme design, monitoring and evaluation. He has worked in the fields of rural development, education, health and policy.
Prior to joining EduFinance team, he worked as M&E Coordinator for Uganda Project Implementation and Management Center (UPIMAC); MEAL Manager for ‘Building Tomorrow Inc-“Educate A Child Programme”; Country Coordinator for Global Partners for Development; MEAL manager for Northern Uganda Literacy Programme; M&E specialist for Uganda Network of AIDS Service Organizations (UNASO). He served as Assistant Country Coordinator for the World Bank “Impact Evaluation of UPE and USE Policy in Uganda”.
George has developed results-based M&E Systems and has trained staff on its functionality and operation for over 50 organizations. He has worked as an evaluation consultant for a range of NGO programmes. George holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology (Social Sciences) from Makerere University.
