Doris AdanuSenior Education Specialist, Ghana
For 35 years, Doris Adanu has worked in the education sector as a teacher, head teacher and municipal administrator in four regions of Ghana. Immediately prior to joining the Education Finance team, Doris served as the Deputy Director of the Private Schools Coordination body within the New Juaben Municipal Education Office, holding oversight responsibility for more than 100 private schools in the municipality. This role included quality assurance, teacher and administrator in-service training, and additional support services required to keep irvate schools in conformity with Ghana Education Services standards.
In recognition of her stellar contribution to education service delivery in Ghana, Doris was awarded a Ford International Fellowship in 2011. She holds a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Arkansas, and a Bachelor of Education in Home Economics from the University of Education, Winneba in Ghana.
In her spare time, Doris trains school dropouts in culinary skills as a pathway to gaining meaningful employment.
