Yassin ShonyelaAssistant Education Specialist (Tanzania)
Yassin Shonyela is an Assistant Education Specialist with the EduQuality program in Tazania.
Prior to taking this role, Yassin worked within the EduQuality team as an M&E Specialist, collecting school quality data through digital surveys, focus group discussions and observations for a portfolio of schools. After observing the challenges and eagerness schools have to improve education quality while conducting M&E data collection, Yassin decided to use his background in Early Childhood Education to directly support school development.
Yassin has worked with a number of international NGOs focussing on early childhood development and brings significant field research and data collection expertise to the team. In his previous role as Research Assistant for UNESCO, Yassin conducted data collection and analysis using SPSS in the Tanga region of Tanzania for the XPrize in Education.
Yassin holds a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development, Care & Education from the University of Dar es Salaam, with a specific focus on Developmental and Childhood Psychology.
