Violet LeonardSenior Education Specialist, Tanzania
Violet has over 15 years’ experience as a classroom teacher. She started working as a primary school teacher in 2002 after completing a Bachelors Degree in Education, specialising in Linguistics and Physical Education. Violet predominantly worked with lower primary age children (6 to 9 years old) which created a real interest in Early Childhood Education (ECE). This motivated Violet to return to her studies, where she gained a Masters in Education at The Aga Khan University specialising in ECE; Violet’s research focussed on how best to conduct Pre-primary Classroom Assessments.
Aside from classroom teaching Violet has also worked as a Professional Development Teacher training and mentoring Public School ECE teachers in Tanzania on how to improve ECE classroom practices. Violet is based in Dar es Salam.
