Salome Ong’eleChief of Party, USAID/Ghana Low-Cost Private Schools Activity (Ghana)
Salome Ong’ele leads the USAID/Ghana Low-Cost Private Schools Activity in Northern Ghana as Chief of Party, a project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Cooperative Agreement No. 72064123CA00001, implemented by Opportunity International. She is responsible for the overall technical and administrative leadership of the Activity, which is being implemented in low-cost private schools in 17 districts in Northern Ghana.
Prior to joining Opportunity International as Chief of Party, Salome was a Team Leader of the Building Learning Foundations (BLF) Program in Rwanda, a UK aid-funded project, focusing on improving literacy among lower primary school learners. She previously led the USAID Kenya Tusome ('Let Us Read') Early Grade Reading Activity in Kenya, providing technical and administrative leadership to the project as the Chief of Party, and implemented the Primary Math and Reading (PRIMR) initiative as the Deputy Chief of Party.
Salome holds a Master’s degree in Planning and Economics of Education from Maseno University, and a Bachelor of Education degree from Kenyatta University.
