Happy AgbenyegaSenior Education Specialist, Ghana

Happy joins our Ghana EduFinance team as an Education Specialist working with schools in and around Accra. Happy brings a wealth of experience from almost 40 years working in the education sector. Her roles range from teaching to education management to training and advising. With the Ghana Education Service, Happy taught in both basic and second cycle intuitions and worked her way to several senior positions during her 38 years with the service. These included: District Examination Officer, District Guidance and Counselling Officer, District Girls’ Education Officer and Deputy Director. Happy has also worked with international development organisations in training teachers including the Varkey Foundation, Child’s Right Organization and Action Aid.

Happy holds a Masters in International Studies in Education from the University of Birmingham, UK. In 2011, she was awarded the International Ford Foundation Scholarship to study in the UK. Happy has also published two textbooks for Ghanaian Junior High Schools. When not working, Happy’s hobbies include guidance and counseling, gardening and music.
